Gaga-Fied

Lady Gaga, the the modern Icon for Freedom, Style and Music. Not only is famous for her outrageous sense of style but also for speaking her mind! I came acros this New York Times article a few days ago anf thought it was a rather interesting take on the Gaganess! Here, an excerpt:

"The tension in Gaga’s self-presentation, far from being idiosyncratic or self-contradictory, epitomizes the situation of a certain class of comfortably affluent young women today. There's a reason they love Gaga. On the one hand, they have been raised to understand themselves according to the old American dream, one that used to be beyond women’s grasp: the world is basically your oyster, and if you just believe in yourself, stay faithful to who you are, and work hard and cannily enough, you'll get the pearl. On the other hand, there is more pressure on them than ever to care about being sexually attractive according to the reigning norms. The genius of Gaga is to make it seem obvious — more so than even Madonna once did — that feminine sexuality is the perfect shucking knife." -The New York Times.

The Mecca of Fashion

At the moment I am really fascinated by Asian Street Fashion and its impact on the fashion world. Tokyo, for instance is known for setting new trends with cutting edge style, that can be crazy and "kawaii" (cute). The picture are from the trendy areas Harajuku or Shibuya. These picture can only give you a glimpse into the Japanese Street Fashion culture and some inspiration for your own closet! :-). How cute are these faux fur coats??!?! Maggie can we please get matching ones? You did say you wanted faux fur coat!!! ;)

Plié, Jeté, Pas de bourrée

"We all know the story. Virginal girl, pure and sweet, trapped in the body of a swan. She desires freedom, but only true love can break the spell. Her wish is nearly granted in the form of a prince. But before he can declare his love, her lustful twin, the Black Swan, tricks and seduces him. Devastated the White Swan leaps off a cliff, killing herself and in death finds freedom."

There is nothing more beautiful and graceful than watching a Primaballerina dancing her solo. The movie Black Swan is my inspiration for these two outfits. I love this ballett inspirate trend, which is great for a classic, girly and romantic look.

Let's Rock the New Year: Philipp Plein

I was watching a new show today and learnt about the Philip Plein Label. I got curious and checked out his website and I love his stuff. It's is young and edgy but still chic! His cloth is great for man and woman who dare to be different! :-)
Philip Plein is a German deisgner who started his label not too long along. Currently, Mischa Barton is the new face for his Corture line.

How much do we love those black crystal high heels or the peace leather jacket?!!?!?

Kiss me and smile for me

I love wearing dresses. Today I stopped by Zara and got the black and white dresses on sale. I like them since they are flowy and very different from the dresses I usually have. Few weeks ago, while I was shopping with my girlfriends they convinced me to buy a brown fake-leather dress. Still need to figure out there I can wear it!! But I do love leather. ;-)
And I really need to go back to work because I have been shopping too much and really doesn't help that there are Sales everywhere..... but then I do need new cloth as a soon-to-be real working girl! :-)
